Come, come, whoever you are, come. Be you Christian, pagan idolator,
still come. This our lodge is not the lodge of hopelessness. If you have
broken your wows a thousand times, still come...
Heeding the call of the famous mystic and poet Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi,
thousands of people flood into Konya from the four corners of the earth.
From 16 to 17 December, people from a variety of religions, nations and
races come together in Konya in the same atmosphere of excitement.
In increasing numbers every year, thousands of people from all over the
world hasten to Konya in response to this invitation. Visitors from
England, from France, from America, from Italy, from Pakistan, from
Algeria, from Egypt, mix and mingle with one another in the melting
pot of a joyful excitement. And from one viewpoint, Konya becomes the
capital city of humanity. The reasons for this flood is Mevlana
Celaleddin Rumi, the famous Turkish scientist, philosopher, poet
and thinker, who touched the entire world with the message contained
in the quatrain above... The "Sheb-i Arus" ceremonies, carried out
between 16 and 17 December, are the clearest indication that Mevlana's
messages have been adopted by humanity... We will try to introduce you
to the thinker and to explain to you his ideas.
